It was in February 2003 when Republic Act No. 9189 also commonly known as Overseas Absentee Voting was passed into law. This law gave the chance to Filipino citizens working and staying abroad most especially Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to exercise their right to vote in all future elections in the Philippines. They may not be physically present in their homeland but still, they will be able to participate in the elections through the Philippine Embassies of the country they are staying.

As an OFW blogger, it was my first time to take part in this effort for national decision making through my right of suffrage and I am looking forward to voting for my choice of candidates in the hope of being able to bring change and better opportunities that will await the Filipinos and our country, the Philippines.
