Philosophy in life:

If there’s a will, there’s a way.

Tell us something random about yourself.

A 35 year old working mommy of two beautiful girls, Derelle, 5 years old and Erchelle, 1 year old. Blogging since 2006 but officially started with paid blogging in 2007. Employed in one of the manufacturing companies in Subic Bay as an Asst. Marketing Manager. Oftentimes, I find myself stressed out and usually dozes off as the clock strikes at 9 pm. Up again the following day as early as 5 am to attend to one preschooler who attends classes at 8 am, and to a small baby who cries out for milk.

1. How, When and Why did you get into blogging industry?
It all started when I was expecting with my first born. A simple online baby journal that contains my pregnancy milestone. As I went along, I met Mommy Bloggers and that’s how I got influenced to start with my very own blog, free hosted by Blogger. A year after when I discovered there is money in blogging, that was the same time when I decided to get my own domain and had it hosted.

2. How you came up with the name for it?
I just thought sticking with my online name will makes it easier for me to remember if I use it as my domain name.

3. How long have you been here and what made you want to start? 4 years?
It killed time and made me get over from homesickness. I was an OFW when I started to blog, that’s why.

4. Do you blog for a job full time? What else do you do aside from blogging?
No. I am a working mommy who is also into direct selling Mary Kay and Sophie. I also have recently started an online shop together with my officemate.

5. Did you choose to start blogging directly about your chosen niche or because you just saw a good way to make money from blogging?
No, as I have said earlier, it was a plain baby journal that later on got converted into a blog. Making money from blogging came next.

6.How much time do you spend on work related to your blog(s) each week?
I can’t give an exact number but I do that whenever I have time.

7. What do you find to be your biggest struggle as a blogger?
When I don’t have time to update my blogs. At the moment, I have 5 working blogs and TIME is very important to keep up with new posts especially when I have deadlines to beat. As a working mommy, it is kind of difficult to balance plus my job requires travel at times.

8.How does blogging help you, in terms of life and career? How did you get to where you are now with your blog(s)? To what do you attribute your success? And what is the next goal you hope to achieve?
It is my outlet when I want to let things out. It also helps me sharpen my writing skill and make the ends meet.

9.Where do you see your blog(s) and yourself in 5 years?
I have not really thought about it but I plan to introduce one of my blogs to my eldest daughter. As soon as she can compose even a short post, I will gladly hand it over to her.

10.One of the hardest things for beginner bloggers is getting traffic. What tips can you give bloggers to drive traffic to a new blog?
Blog hop and comment. Let other Bloggers know that your blog exists. That’s how I did it!

11. What advice would you give to new bloggers wanting to start blogging and help them start out on a path to success?
Be keen. Read. Learn. And know what’s in demand online.

  1. I just started blogging almost 2 months ago, I can relate regarding the traffic it’s not easy to introduce your blog to www! Thanks so much for the tips! Greatly appreciated..

  2. Thanks Gracia for featuring my blogging experience!

    @Ion, I agree with you.
    @Kay, I just thought that these info should be shared to help other Bloggers, guide them and let them know that there is really money in blogging.
    @Jonathan, thanks a lot!
    @Violy, you are most welcome.
    @Tatess, yes. Gracia features Bloggers from time to time.
    @Chrisair, just keep on writing… Who knows you’d be next.
    @May, hi sis! Yup, I have completely forgotten about this nga eh haha!

  3. same her, blogging was at first a journal to me. I had a few online journals [which i left years ago already] and yeah it helps. until a friend told me i can earn something from it aside from emotional outlet… and i tried… hoping to earn soon… hahaha

    nice blog gracia!

  4. Yes that’s true. It takes courage to tell everything about one’s self. Well, if you want to be honest and you want others to trust, be on yourself. Be an open book. But if you withhold something important about yourself, others will do the same.

    However, some people are just lurking somewhere, trying to make use of your personal info to serve their evil motive. Sooner or later you may realize that your best friend, your carnal friend tends to avoid you. Unknowingly somebody has defraud him/her by using your name.

    Well, that is case to case.

    Hope this webpage will serve its purpose and more inspiring bloggers will be featured here and more new comers will be encouraged to prove their worth in blogging to influence fellow bloggers for the better, without ulterior motives.

    So be it!

  5. I should start to ask these questions to myself too.. Haha! Well, i blog to combat homesickness too since I am also an OFW. But more than anything, I blog for myself. I enjoy reading my posts over and over again. Somehow it helps me to get to know myself better. And… blogging makes me happy. Hehe!

  6. This is such a nice blogger feature. I definitely agree with mommy Mitch on how to get more traffic. I hope I get a good traffic share in the blogsphere too. Thanks for the tips and happy blogging!

  7. I blog because I want to share. I blog because I want to meet new people on-line or possibly meet in the real world. I blog because I’m inspired with my fellow blogger. I blog because I love it. I blog because I am learning everytime I read an article. Keep blogging, inspired and enjoy everytime you blog. It’s nice to know new people with great profile.

  8. Mommy Mitch is one of my inspirations to be a disciplined mommy blogger. Imagine her dedication in updating her blogs while having a regular 8-5 job + taking care of little girls, it takes one consummate multi-tasker + a superwoman to do all that! ^_^

  9. If it wasn’t for Mitch, I wouldn’t know about this blogging thing. Moreover, I wouldn’t be blogging myself! And yes, Mitch is my inspiration and my mentor plus the fact that she is my boss at work, hihi! Been blogging for few months now and she doesn’t tire assisting me whenever I get senior moment attacks (just an excuse actually, haha!). But, seriously, 2 hands up and down for Mitch. She’s one of the most giving person I’ve known , lucky me to have met her. 🙂
