For quite some time now, the Philippine Embassy in Faiha has been sheltering and taking care of distressed Filipino female OFWs who were not able to finish their contracts with their employers, for different reasons. Most of our Pinay kabayans have sad and very sad stories to tell that led to their AWOL (absence without leave) from their work posts.

While staying at the embassy, many Filipino Communities, both leaders and members, took turns in sharing their time, effort and resources to enhance feeding programs, livelihood projects, consultation, giving advice and providing for the immediate needs of our kabayans who fell for unfortunate circumstances here in the host country.

A few days ago, 61 of them were finally given legal documents and airfare to return home to the Philippines giving them unparalleled happiness and unending gratitude to the Philippine Embassy together with POLO OWWA personnel.

Their patience of waiting has finally been rewarded. Great joy cannot be denied as shown from their smiles.

Maraming Salamat po to the Philippine Embassy, POLO and OWWA.

  1. Seeing their faces smiling makes me feel happy for them too! It’s indeed very hard to be away with the family for so long and now, they’ve returned to our country is just pure happiness.

  2. It is a sad reality that a lot of OFWs have to leave their jobs because of abuse. It is a good thing that these people you posted above were able to go home to their families alive.

  3. I hope that for many of our OFWs, a happy ending is in store for them after spending a portion of their lives abroad. All too often, they cannot finish their contracts because they’re abused, mistreated, or downright cheated by employers. My heart goes out to them!
