Since I came here several years ago, one thing that captures my heart about Kuwait is the gastronomic experience it brings to its expatriate community. From your neighborhood “bakala” or convenience store to the restaurant frequented by many expats to the finest dining venue, say it and you can locate it here in Kuwait.

Last March at Marina Crescent was held Taste of Kuwait – Kuwait Food Festival 2016. An open air convergence of different restaurants, chefs, exhibitors and entertainment kept the adventure and excitement of the guests.

Among the participating restaurants were; Al Nata – Portuguese puff pastry, Al Noukhaza – for seafood lovers, Al – Ahmadi – international cuisine, Al Boom – charcoal grilled dishes, mainly seafood, Alfredo’s Gallery – Italian, for those who crave for pasta, Ayam Zaman – Lebanese, Big Smoke Burger – everything you order is home made and hand crafted, Chocolateness – oh I so love desserts!

Costa Coffee – there’s no doubt that I am a coffee lover too! Crumbs – colorful and invitingly designed desserts. Espresso Cafe – another one for coffee to keep me awake! Frozen dessert without the calorie guilt…Frost Gelato is a must try. Vegans and health conscious busy people will definitely like the menu of Ginger Restaurant.

Indian food while Indian music is being played – Jamawar is the place to be. Popular street food you say? Go Junkyard Street Classics – burgers, hotdogs, fries to name a few. Have a taste of fine Argentinean beef at La Brasa. Handmade ice cream of different variants at Marble Slab Creamery.

Naranj gives one a unique fine dining experience and from China’s different regions come cuisine offered by Peacock. A taste of Italy in Kuwait is what Pizzeria Amami offers its customers. Where to get original American, Western style steak – Rib Eye tops the list. Sakura is the Japanese restaurant that caters to passionately prepared Japanese food.

Shabestan offers Iranian dishes that gives the taste of regal. If you like to choose from international dishes, Silk is the restaurant for you. Desserts galore at The Pie Shop where you can find American and European desserts.
