Kasiyahan 2015 to celebrate 117 years of Philippine Independence Day at Qadsiyah Sports Club.

Although there were few changes about the program to celebrate the 117th Philippine Independence Day at Qadsiyah Sports Club in Hawally, everyone was truly excited.

From 12 noon to 1:00 PM was the assembly of organizations followed by my first Boodle Fight or should I say Boodle Feasts. Tables were set one after another to make the longest possible line and on top was the neatly prepared lunch.

Boodle Feasts, another way for FILCOM to come together.

Fellow Fil Com leaders would agree that this was another way to bond with fellow OFW leaders in the community here in Kuwait.

From 2:00 to 2:30 PM came the Parade of Colors, attendance of Embassy Officials, FILCOM Organizations and sponsors. The program proper immediately followed.

To start every program needs and Invocation, first the Christian Prayer followed by the Muslim Prayer. The National Anthem of our host country, Kuwait was honored first then followed by our Pambansang Await, Lupang Hinirang.

Welcome Remarks, Messages, Introduction of participating FILCOM Leaders and their organizations. The songs, cultural dances and group presentations were definitely well prepared. It was like a real hometown fiesta, only in an overseas venue.

The much awaited exhibition games in basketball gave me the chance to take a picture with former PBA player Vince “The Prince” Hizon.

Another special guest was Nic Velasco. The Filipino Community did not hide their excitement to see former PBA players who were able to come to Kuwait on short notice.

Search for Miss FILCOM Lakambini 2015 was hosted by Mr. Gerson De Guzman and Mr. Raymond of TFC Connect. I was chosen to be one of the judges and for that, my gratitude to FILCOM.

This brings me back to the delicious boodle fight I had in Aracama! Although, I think it would be very different having a boodle fight in a room full of hungry men. haha. How many people fought over the food here?
