Facing the Giants Movie Review

Facing the Giants is a film about faith, hope and positivism.

Facing the Giants is a film made in 2006 by non-professional cast and crew. By non-professional means they are not from Hollywood, but are members of a Christian church. The main theme of the movie is belief in Divine Guidance and Divine Providence from God.

Just like Coach Taylor who is a losing high school football coach, who is not only faced with possible work termination because his team has not won even a single game. He has financial and personal problems as well that make life a burden for him.

At some point in our life, we experience setbacks, disappointments and failures one after another that make us want to give up. We want to throw in the towel and say, “I am done!”

Facing the Giants teaches us that however grave our trials in life are, we have the greatest God who has the best plans for us. Of course, we must also help ourselves to make things better through humility, improved interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships and hard work.

Although a Christian produced film, the message it brings is universal.
