Kapamilya wins 4 Migration Advocacy Awards

Kapamilya channel ABS-CBN won four (4) awards in the recent Migration Advocacy and Media Award (MAM) Awards from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) held last December 18, 2012, 6 o’clock in the evening at the SSS Magsaysay Hall in Quezon City, Philippines.

The awarding body recognizes the important role of the media in introducing public awareness on the different aspects of Filipino migration worldwide, namely the challenges and development of migration of Overseas Filipino Workers and Filipino expats.

There were 37 official entries and according to the CFO, 12 from which emerged as the best in their respective categories. Notably, the winners are diversely from the United States, Australia, Kuwait, and the Philippines.

The panel of judges composed of the CFO with members from Philippine Migrants Rights Watch (PMRW), Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Presidential Communications Operations Office, National Press Club of the Philippines (NPC), International Association of Business Communicators, UP College of Mass Communication, and the Blas F. Ople Center.

ABS CBN’s winning entries are; 1. BEST TV SHOW AWARD (EPISODIC): KRUSADA: Lipad ng Pangarap
(ABS-CBN Channel 2/ DZMM Teleradyo/ ANC; Host: Henry Omaga-Diaz)

2. BEST FILM: A Mother’s Story (Writer: Senedy Que; Producer: Raffy Lopez; Director: John-D Lazatin)

3. BEST ADVERTISMENT: Bida ang Pasko “On Duty” (ABS-CBN Global Ltd.)

4. BEST DOCUMENTARY: Balitang America’s ‘TNT’
