We, as an OFW in Kuwait have to sacrifice our time to work here for the welfare of our family.
So, what I’m going to share with you now is about the time management and how can we make it work for us. Time Management is a term used on the process of planning and controlling the time spent on one specific activity; this is done to increase our effectiveness, efficiency and productivity. Time management is really important and considered to be necessary.
As the saying goes, “..we always don’t have all the time in the world”. Time is definitely gold, it is precious and impossible to be restored, so we should really think carefully on how to use it. As an OFW, our main problem is coping up with our family and friends, sometimes it’s quite hard for us to manage our time to even communicate with them. My advice is not to think too negative, leave a couple of hours at least everyday to talk to them, if it seems impossible for you, study the internet because it can help you a lot for easy communicating, such as e-mail and Skype and if the expensive rates of calling to overseas doesn’t really matter to you then it is also good to call them from time to time.
We should also apply time management for our self-improvement. Take some time to study more on how to improve ourselves by reading a couple of books on our free time as well as study new things relating to our life.
Aside from all of these things, we should also keep to our mind and our heart to give time for God. Start the day with him, say a little prayer and thank him for giving you another day to live.
“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3)
We may have load of works and things to do but still, it is important for us to know that half of our life should be dedicated to God. He doesn’t require too much but what he just wanted for us to do is to remind ourselves that he is there for us.
Kabayan, we are not going to live permanently here on Earth, and we can’t be an OFW in Kuwait forever, so I encourage you to think how to spend your time. Time is gold therefore we should treasure it as if it’s our last possession we have.
