Networking: A Way Of Life

What Is Networking?

When we see or hear the word “Networking” we usually think of scam, pyramiding, MLM and such. But, what does it really mean? In terms of computer, networking means connecting a link to two or more computer device to share and exchange data. On the other hand, we often recognized networking as a type of business; a business which is quite huge and is considered as the biggest business system ever created. What you do here is; invest for products, try different strategy to advertise, get customers and gain profit twice as much as what you have invested. Another way of earning commissions is to recruit and invite friends and family to join into your business. What we don’t usually know is that networking is actually a part of our daily life in which a simple exchanging of information with someone is already called networking. It specifically involves developing relationship with individuals.

The Deeper Meaning

When you start to meet someone, a lot of possibilities can happen. These people you meet can actually help you, they can give you advice, tips or even try to inspire you as a person, but at the same time, these same people also has the ability to break you, ruin you and pull you down in any way where in fact, we as humans, are naturally social beings, we want friendships and good interactions. We spend most of our time exchanging information or doing services with different individuals and groups, we specifically do this to have a more productive relationship in favor of our employment or business.

The Other Side

As we have learned, networking is not just a business or a computer definition, it happens to us every day, especially to OFWs.

The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
– Jeremiah 1:4-5

The Bible states that God knew our purpose on this earth before we were born. In an age of options, the God of creation made us for a specific reason so, in one sense, we can’t be anything that we want to be. We were formed and set apart for our Lord. Part of our journey on this earth is not to create our destiny but to discover it. It is as we connect with our Maker that we connect with who we truly are.

Being an OFW in Kuwait is not as easy as others may think; we have chosen it not just because it’s our fate but because that’s what we think is best. In our journey as an OFW, chances are, we might’ve already met someone who’s great and talented, built friendships, and started to have love interests. And, these people might’ve taken the opportunity to introduce someone to us as a favor of helping. We may have also taken the chance to introduce someone we knew to others but somehow led us to failure or worse, being forgotten.

Our Kabayan in Kuwait kept it strong and focused, so when these things happened and you felt like you were being rejected or left by someone whom you regarded as a friend or something else, always remember that;

2 Timothy 4: 16 – 17 “At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. ”

God Won’t Abandon You – You are a child of God, Created by God, Secured, Accepted, and Valued by God. You have direct access to God’s throne of Grace. Nothing can separate us from God’s Love. God will never abandon you.

Always take the opportunity to be a blessing to others, no matter how they try to destroy you as a person never consider revenge as an option. You should realize that these things are a way of God to make you a better person and a better individual.
