Thank you Ms. Mae Ortiz, Bisdak President not only for the ride but most especially for the time spent with you.

Another chance to make me feel blessed to be here in Kuwait as an OFW, was the Breakfast Reception at the Philippine Embassy – Faiha in the morning of June 12, 2015.

Proud to be Filipino and an OFW at the same time.

As early as 6:30 in the morning, many participants and guests flocked to the Embassy to avoid being late. I thank Ms. Mae Ortiz, President of BISDAK for giving me a ride to the venue and for sharing stories with her along our way.

Dado, Mr. Jabbar M., Adiong, First Secretary and Consul, Ms. Shiena Escoto – Tesorero, Third Secretary and Vice Consul and Atty.  Cesar L. Chavez, Jr. – Labor Attache. They were assisted by Mr. Ramon C. Nerida and Mr. Muammar A. Hassan.

Conductress was Ms. Maria Althea R. Nabo and the Panunumpa sa Watawat was delegated to Mr. Charlie P. Dizon.

Prayers at the Chancery Lobby were solemnly recited by Ms. Antonia B. Caba (Christian Prayer) and Mr. Muamar B. Mamosion.

Consul General Atty. Raul H. Dado read The President’s Message; Mr. Jabbar M. Adiong, The Vice President’s Message; Ms. Shiena R. Escoto-Tesorero; The Secretary’s Message,  Atty. Cesar L. Chavez,  Jr.,; OWWA Administrator’s Message, Mr. Nestor P. Burayag (Welfare Officer) and Consul General  Atty. Raul H. Dado read his own message for the occasion.

Song Numbers in Filipino commenced with Awit ng Bayan: Bayan Ko, followed by rendition of songs from Ms. Claire Constantino, Ms. Rowena Tinio, Ms. Tanya Dawood and Ms. Abby. Emcees were Ms. Russell Ocampo and Mr. Charlie Dizon.

Meet and greet the Ambassador by the leaders of Filipino Organizations was the final segment before the Almusal ng Bayan at 9:45 AM. It was a typical Filipino food breakfast that reminds me of home.

As OFW here in Kuwait, although we may be far, but many things will always affirm our nationality.
